Who can apply
- Lives or goes to school in Texas
- For juniors
- For seniors (preferred, not required)
- GPA of at least 3.0
- Must earn the Texas First Diploma (early graduation with STAAR EOC exams and test/rank benchmarks) verified by a high school counselor.
- Homeschool: requires a Texas First Diploma confirmed by a school counselor through Texas OnCourse, so homeschool graduates generally cannot qualify. (preferred, not required)
Homeschool note: this award seems to need an accredited school, class rank or a school nomination. Ask the sponsor whether a homeschool transcript and a parent’s counselor letter are accepted; many say yes when asked.
